Liisa A. Hancock
Having clerked for two years with the Fourth District Court, Liisa approaches cases with an innovative and thoughtful perspective. Primarily a litigator, she represents clients in adjudicative, administrative, and appellate proceedings at municipal, state and federal levels.
Liisa practices primarily in the following areas:
Real Estate and Real Property Law: property rights and interests, homeowner’s rights, zoning and land use, buying and selling property, representation before planning and zoning boards, housing code violation resolutions, quiet title actions, among other property related issues at the municipal, state, and federal levels. Construction Law: contractor/subcontractor disputes, drafting contracts, and defending and removing mechanics lien claims. Commercial Litigation: business and personal property disputes, indemnification and breach of contract issues such as failure to perform, unwarranted contract termination; non-compete and confidentiality agreements, and other business related issues and negotiations. Intentional torts: assault and battery, fraud, and defamation, among others. Personal
Liisa loves to dance and has traveled the world competing and performing in ballroom dance in such far away places as Korea, Mongolia, and even California. She cherishes both her Finnish and her American heritage and visits her mummi (“grandma”) in Finland any chance she gets. She enjoys gardening, hiking, running, cross-country skiing, traveling, and doting on her nieces and nephews.
